Just to clarify, Franz Schmidt is not chagrined for what he might have said to Karajan. He was sympathetic to the Nazi regime and that is the only reason he is not considered as highly as he might be. Thanks!

HEY! THANK YOU!! I heard about this particular posting from a video I watched of Claire Zimmerman, speaking on the 3rd text of Albert Kahn. This is amazing! We have a couple Albert Kahn buildings here in Jacksonville, FL that rarely get recognition, fortunately the weather and people have been kinder to our Kahns than up north. I love this list, thank you again! He's my fave, and whenever I'm in Detroit, I absolutely love being so close to so many of his works. (I'm a native K-Zooer). Search my FB and Instagram (my name) for some pics of buildings I've visited, if you like! <3

"Carmina Burana" is one of my all-time favorites, for sure, J.....but come out for ANY classical performance by the DSO with me next time you are in the area and I guarantee you will be just as blown away by the world-class quality of their show.

The cough at 14;38 was really annoying. Still, for me this night stands out as the best live performance of 2014 so far. It was enthralling from start to finnish. Thanks for capturing ILDM.

I am jealous!Carmina Burana is my absolute favorite despite its out of context and overuse in commercialism. It cannot ever be totally appreciated unless embraces in all three parts from start to finish; and live!

I first learned about Pewabic pottery from Antiques Roadshow. Sadly I had worked in Toledo area and could have visited it and the Guardian building had I known how beautiful it is. Having been to Cincinati I was in love with Rookwood pottery and was not suprised to learn that Mary Chase Perry Stratton had studied art in Cincinnati. When you see the Guardian bldg and see how art and life can intersect you wish there was alot more of that in real life but I guess only big money can afford it.

Don't know year right now but Red Woman on Coca Cola ad was done by James R. Shore (not that Jim Shore!), my father when he lived in the 'hood. Probably in late 1990s.

Another great piece of work! I am an architect working on trying to redevelop the Highland Park McGregor Public LIbrary and have additional photos/resources if you are interested. We also have produced a 3D model of the exterior and interior lobby - see example attached.
