Our editorial policy is simple: If it’s Detroit related and we like it, we cover it. If we don’t, we won’t.

Re: 44 Famous Musicians Buried in Vienna’s “Zentralfriedhof”

Hi,
Just to clarify, Franz Schmidt is not chagrined for what he might have said to Karajan. He was sympathetic to the Nazi regime and that is the only reason he is not considered as highly as he might be. THANK YOU!! I heard about this particular posting from a video I watched of Claire Zimmerman, speaking on the 3rd text of Albert Kahn. This is amazing! We have a couple Albert Kahn buildings here in Jacksonville, FL that rarely get recognition, fortunately the weather and people have been kinder to our Kahns than up north. I love this list, thank you again! He's my fave, and whenever I'm in Detroit, I absolutely love being so close to so many of his works. (I'm a native K-Zooer). Search my FB and Instagram (my name) for some pics of buildings I've visited, if you like! <3

Re: 21 Essential Locations in New Orleans

Thanks so much for stopping in. Sadly I had worked in Toledo area and could have visited it and the Guardian building had I known how beautiful it is. Having been to Cincinati I was in love with Rookwood pottery and was not suprised to learn that Mary Chase Perry Stratton had studied art in Cincinnati. When you see the Guardian bldg and see how art and life can intersect you wish there was alot more of that in real life but I guess only big money can afford it.

Re: 60 More Outdoor Murals in Metro Detroit

Thanks for the info, Allan!

Re: 60 More Outdoor Murals in Metro Detroit

Don't know year right now but Red Woman on Coca Cola ad was done by James R. And thanks for the attachment. We'd absolutely LOVE to see more! Feel free to add more image attachments as comments here, and if you'd be interested in having a few of your shots added to the article, please feel free to email a handful to info@ilovedetroitmichigan.com. We will definitely give them a lot of consideration, and most likely publish a few of our favorites. We're dying to see this gorgeous public library restored to its former glory, and at last occupied and in use. As that dream becomes reality, we'd love to be informed of further developments in the process, too!

Re: 30 Famous Architects with Designs in Detroit

Another great piece of work! Thanks so much! We love an informed reader! We only regret that technical difficulties precluded us from replying to your comment much earlier! Truth be told, we've watched so many episodes of LL's show "CSI: Los Angeles" that we foolishly assumed he was a native West-coaster. Good eye. You'd make a great editor and fact-checker. We've corrected the error, but feel we owe to it you and our readers to leave, here within the comments, a record of our less than stellar reporting.
